Community Art Catalog

In 2010 the Oak Park Art League was awarded a grant from the Nineteenth Century Club  to research and document all publicly held art collections in Oak Park and compile the findings in an easily accessible format for the public to view.

The first phase of collecting information and images on the publicly held collections of art in Oak Park is complete and was largely made possible by the efforts of Oak Park Art League intern Shannon Torii who will be giving lectures on what she found and the rich history of art in Oak Park later in 2011.
The next phase, which is currently in progress, is to create an interactive database and map that will be hosted by the Oak Park Art League and will benefit visitors and researchers who come to Oak Park to see the wealth of creativity in this historic village.
We are very excited and honored to have the opportunity to present this valuable information and retain it for posterity. Our goal is to have the Community Art Catalog, database and map, completed and online by the end of 2011, to help celebrate The Oak Park Art League’s 90th year in the community.  Please check back on the progress of the Community Art Catalog as the year progresses.
