A new self -instruction figure studio is now available at OPAL. It meets on Wednesdays from 1 to 4 pm for studio painting from live models, male and female, clothed and nude.  Particular attention is paid to lighting and the backdrop to produce the best tonal values for both portrait and figure painting.  There is no instruction, but lots of sharing. All poses are held for the entire three hour period (with breaks) and repeated for not less than two weeks and preferably four weeks.  The extended poses make this figure studio an excellent option for sculptors. Fees for members are $10/$15 for non-members. The Tuesday Figure Painting (9-12pm) and Sunday Figure Drawing (1-4pm) figure studios are also available for the same fee.

Through the month of October we will also continue our Open Studio Painting from 6:30-8:30 on Thursdays. The fee to attend is $12. Come create and share with this lively group of painters.
