Yes. There are various classes to fit the artistic needs for students of all ages. Go to the Education page for schedules and course descriptions.
- How do I become a member?
- What are the benefits of Membership?
Basic benefits of membership are discounted classes ($15 off of any classes you want to take for one full year). Members receive our monthly e-newsletter and discounts at select local frame shops and art stores. Artist members have the opportunity to showcase their work in our gallery for such exhibitions as our spring and fall members shows, and have further opportunities with our satellite gallery shows.
- Along with the my regular membership, I would like to become an Artist Member. How do I become an Artist Member?
First, you must be a member of OPAL before you can apply for Artist Member Status. Then Twice a year, there is a jury process for artist membership. The artist must submit a minimum of three (no more than five) examples of their original work, which have been executed within the last twelve months. Applicants may choose to submit high qualify slides, a CD, or DVD only if work is oversized or otherwise difficult to transport (sculpture, murals). Work must be entirely the applicant's own in conceptio and execution. Additionally, applicants are asked to submit their resume and a short bio. Two-dimensional work must be framed, matted and ready for hanging. All work must be signed and identified with the artist's name and work title on the back of two-dimensional pieces, or attached securely to three-dimensional works.
