John
T. Nolf
1892 – 1950 Untitled,
ca. 1920’s, oil Nolf
studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Smith Art Academy. For
20 years he was a cartoonist. He
later worked in oil and exhibited at noted institutions. He was a
charter member of the Art League, taught classes for adults and was on
the board. His awards include prizes from shows at the Art Institute of
Chicago. His work can be found in several Chicago-area elementary school
and university collections. This
painting is in the Art League’s permanent collection. This and many of the works in the collection are in need of
restoration and preservation. If

Richard
Epperly
? – 1973 Street
Scene Paris, ca. 1930’s, oil Epperly
studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and worked as a commercial
artist before journeying abroad to study at the Academie Moderne in
Paris. He served as an Art
League board member and had several solo shows in the area. He is
represented in the permanent collections of the Springfield Art
Association and the Logan Collection.

Jensen

studied at Smith’s Academy of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, and
the Academy of Fine Arts. He
served as the first secretary for the Art League and was also on its
board. He exhibited his
work in Illinois, Missouri, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan and elsewhere and
he received many noted awards in his career.
This
painting is in the Art League’s permanent collection.
